First line-up of Periferia Del Mondo was born in Rome in 1993 by woodwinds player Alessandro Papotto (BANCO del Mutuo Soccorso), bass player Claudio Braico and guitarist Giovanni Tommasi, who were soon joined by drummer Tony Zito and keyboardist Bruno Vegliante.
Since 2016 keyboardist Edoardo Petretti joins the band in substitution of Bruno Vegliante and, sometime, also the violinist Alberto D’annibale (already member of the band since 1998 until 2003) plays with them.
The musical style consists of a kaleidoscope of colors ranging from Jazz-Rock to Psychedelic Rock, passing through Symphonic Rock and World Music.
The band has released four studio albums and four live albums with recordings of concerts held in Italy, Portugal and Belgium. The albums gained large appreciation and enthusiastic reviews from papers and radios all around the world.
Among the publications stands out the box set “Prog Exhibition” recorded live at the Tendastrisce Theater in Rome where the group shared the stage with Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), John Wetton (King Crimson), Premiata Forneria Marconi and Banco del Mutuo Soccorso.
Some internationally renowned musicians such as Mauro Pagani (PFM), Francesco Di Giacomo, Vittorio Nocenzi and Rodolfo Maltese (BANCO), Luca Sapio (AREA) and many others have played in the studio and live with Periferia Del Mondo.
